Today was a pretty fun day. holly was laid back in the afternoon, but Joel reports she was a bundle of energy all morning. They had a ton of Tummy Time and she is holding up her head better and better. We have this cool Triangle toy that our friends got her for her Baptism, and she is starting to really enjoy it. We will place it just out of her reach, and she tries to get it. Sometimes she turns off her stomach thinking she will be closer and then realizes she is further away. She also tries to get it with her feet but ends up pushing it. She likes the little mirror, and spinning the paddles.
Joel also read to her this morning, and she was so tired out from all the playing and wiggling, that she took a long afternoon nap. In the afternoon she had more Tummy time with mommy and she hasn't been minding it at all. We also practiced standing and leaning over the bolster pillow which she enjoys. We read some more books, including the color book and the Hungry Caterpillar. We also watched Baby's First Moves, which she always likes and Baby Lullaby before her lap. later we also watched Yo Gabba gabba, which is really just on in the background, but she likes the colors and songs.
In the late afternoon Daddy fixed her jumper, now she seems to still not be able to touch the ground, but we think it is because the jumper at the store was more "broken-in" and so the springs were just stretched more. But it is definitely on the lowest setting this time, and she only needed one book instead of 3. She could actually just touch the ground with a toe, but the book lets her have flat feet for bouncing. She played for about 20 minutes at least and spun all the way around. We also put batteries in, so it makes music when she bounces and she really liked it.
I can't believe how big she is getting, we are estimating she is about 25 1/4 inches long, but the outfit she is wearing today is for a 6-9 month old, and she is too long for it. I had to leave the center 2 buttons undone. I think a lot of this has to do with her gDiaper's being so bulky, but still, I was shocked.
Later she took a quick shower with Mommy and we washed her hair, and then mommy gave her a massage. She fell asleep for about an hour in her crib, after taking her evening medication, but then woke up and wanted to be with us. She wasn't playful, but just wanted to be held, and touch our face, so she sat in daddies lap as we watched some TV. Then she ate again and fell asleep.
She hasn't said Ba for a few days, and Joel pointed this out, getting me worried. I hope she isn't loosing skills, It doesn't seem like she is, but she has not been very talkative. I think it could be because she is sick, but she also hasn't gained any new skills. The problem, is she hasn't had any of her therapies in like 3 weeks. She had one session with Sally, but she was pretty cranky and it only lasted 30 minutes and was in a new place, so we didn't get to do much. She hasn't seen Katie in like 3 weeks, and next week she won;t see Sally until Friday. So I think a combination of being sick, and missing therapy because she was sick has had an impact. I just hope its not because she stopped the minocycline. But I haven't notices as rapid a gain in skill the last few weeks, but again, it could be because she is tired and at daycare, and adjusting to a new environment, and it is taking all her energy to process all of that.

It's so hard to figure babies out at times; they sometimes will fall back a little on one skill while they are learning a new skill. It sounds like there have been several changes in her daily routine....and nobody likes being sick! :)
