Last weekend we went to an event in San Francisco called Baby Loves Disco.
For this event they take a popular night spot or club and turn it into a baby wonderland.
There is a live DJ spinning and playing Disco / 80's music and fun activities for the kids to do.
There are toys for the kids to play with all around the back of the dance floor.
And Egg Shaker's and Scarves to dance around with on the Dance Floor
A few times they had bubbles filling the room which all the kiddies loved.
The lights were dimmed and colorful but not dark.
And they had lots of mommy and baby friendly snacks provided my a local organic farm.
There was an upstairs with activities like sock puppets and face painting.
Holly played dress up with the soft silky scarves
She is definitely a people watcher and really liked seeing all the babies and kids everywhere.
She ate cheese and cracker's and Mommy had Apples and Strawberries.
She even learned how to drink out of a straw in a juice box, you just squeeze and the juice comes gushing out.
She enjoyed having a large open space for walking around and when she wasn't snacking had a shaker with her.
She is such a social babies and makes friends wherever she goes.
Her new thing is trying to kiss other babies and she likes too look at them close up.
And of course she is always happy to share a Shaker and play a game.
She was very excited and enjoyed the music and lights.
She was really good about being independent, but making sure she new where mommy was and didn't go to far.
She helped herself to some oranges and explored everywhere.
The event had a few sponsors which meant that there were a bunch of give aways. We loved the shakers and took about 15 home with us.
There was a gift bag at the end and they also had cool leggings.
We ended up getting 3 pairs. They retail for about 15$ each. so the recouped the ticket price easily.
Holly didn't quite get the dancing thing in the traditional sense, as she doesn't bounce yet.
But in her own way she danced by shaking and waddling and going in circles and watching the other kids.
Upstairs they had a bunch of hoola hoops.
She likes to watch them spin in a that cool edgy way around the rim making wave patterns..
with so many hoola hoops, you know the best one is the one someone else already has.
But Holly is good at taking turns. Mommy spun them for her and she tried too.
and eventually she found the best one of all, in purple, which I think is her favorite color.
What fun would the balcony be if you didn't spend some time looking down over the crowd?
Down below everyone danced and was having a great time.
We took a moment to appreciate the purple lights and watched how the room glowed.
And then we decided to add Fairy wings on, she really liked the scarves.
She liked having them flow behind her and she trotted about.
It was cool to see all the families and the slightly older kids really enjoyed the music.
And some babies really got into the spirit of it, dressed in there very own Disco outfits.
We had cool glow sticks, both for chewing and spinning.
and sometimes we just took a break to watch all the colorful lights.
It could be a tad over whelming at times, and when it was, Holly took her own little break.
she would walk into the hall and take a moment to explore and contemplate.
Sometimes instead of the dance floor we played int he back, there were couches.
Books, stuffed animals, and cool tubes and tents to play in. All in all we had a wonderful time!
