Summer Party

My meet-up group gets together annually for the Summer Party. This is where almost everyone comes to the event. It lasts all day, so not everyone is there at the same time. This is a group shot we took of those who were in attendance at the end of the day. We didn't arrive until after 3:00 and thought we would be late, but it seemed many people decided to come after nap time. There were about 30 or so people there when we took this picture, and through out the day over 67 attended. it was so much fun. The group rented a house in Richmond called "The Pram House" It is a cool community center that is filled with toys, it was only 75$ for the entire day, and there was an outside with swings and more toys, and it was all enclosed and safe. There was a lot for us to do,and it was so much fun seeing everyone with there Daddies along.Katherine, and Chloe and her dad Eric. Here is also Maya and her Mom Angela and her Dad. Also in attendance were Tristan and His mom Madelyn, and Dad Dustin. Kendra, Randy and little Serena, and Sarah and Ian (whom we haven't seen for a while) he is pictured just below playing with some string and has gotten so so big.Of course Rhonda and Teagan and her dad (Our Hosts) and Berrin and her Son Theo, and we even made some new friends, Leona, Pablo (4) and Isla (1). We also met another little girl with such pretty long hair, and only just 13 months old named Sailor, whom we later met again at Music Class.Holly really enjoyed exploring and was unstoppable, running in a large circle through the building, out the back door, into the yard, stopping in the grass, and then back inside again. Since it was the weekend, and Mommy was enjoying chatting with everyone Daddy spent a good deal of time chasing her around. Here is Madelyn and Tristan as they arrive. Before we arrived we found a cute little downtown area tucked away and there was a Starbucks, so Daddy had some Coffee to give him the energy he needed to keep up with her. This is a cool little play house outside. Here holly is trying to climb up the slide, she in fact really enjoys playing at the base of slides putting sand and other objects on them. Teagan is posing with some bubbles. This is Leona with her daughter Isla, who was such a sweetie. it is hard for her to get to a lot of the regular meet-up because she has the older son who is board at the baby events, but its also hard to bring a baby to the older children events. So this was perfect. He had a lovely time playing with Theo. In the background you can see all the dad's chatting away. Here Holly is saying hello to Serena. We just found out that her Dad Randy got a new job in the South bay, our old stopping grounds, around Sunnyvale, and they will be moving int he next few months. its not that far away, but well, sometimes 45 miles can seem like 450. We hope we will still get a chance to see Serena and keep in touch after they move. Here Holly is playing outside again with a little push toy. The boys were making up fun games going on scavenger hunts and following clues (of there own invention) and she was so intrigued she was determined to follow them around. The Pram house was very comfortable. There were comfy couches to sit on as well as some chairs and tables. It was a Pot luck, so we had some yummy Root Beers, and Cherry Vanilla Sodas. There were many deserts, some pizzas, and other yummy snacks.Holly is always getting into something she should probably not be playing with. I am not even sure what this long spikey thing is, perhaps a "Bam Bam" for a drum of some short, but we of course took it away from her. The Pram house even came equipped with a Changing table and spare diapers and wipes. Here is Kendra and Serena hanging out and exploring some new toys.Holly took a break to play with Chloe, she found a new Pop-Up Animal game the same principle as the one at home but a different design. This one however could be opened without using the levers, and knobs, they girls found a way to cheat. That is such a very cool shape sorter that Chloe is playing with, but I am not sure we knew where the various shapes were. Chloe was just learning to walk, Cruise Really, and she was having so much fun pushing Tristan around in this little car.She spent a lot of time practicing her new skills, the room was so big it made it easy for her to walk in long stretches. Now she can take a few steps all on her own, and is getting around into everything.Since we were there at the end of the day, and it was required that we "clean-up" before leaving, everyone left pitched in. Rhonda is 7 months pregnant after all. I think last year it must have taken her over 90 minutes doing it on her own, but this year with everyone putting toys away and picking up trash we were done in practically 15 minutes. It was almost irresistible to the little ones though, craving to run and bring out all the fun toys again. I had to in fact take holly outside and redirect her, so she wouldn't be so tempted. We had almost 2 hours to hang out with all our friends, and had a really great time. I am looking forward to the party Next Year.
