We really enjoy our Monday afternoons with Chloe. Holly is so comfortable over there and her and Chloe are so bonded and have really become friends. It is so neat to see them grow up together. I love it.
Holly totally lights up with recognition when she sees Chloe and is eager to play. They also play together. It is also neat how they "stretch" each other. Holly will see Chloe eating something and want to try it and vice versa. It is so great. She is also very comfortable at Chloe's house, knows the toys and her way around.
What is also so fun about these play dates, is that although we often see a lot of the same mom's there are new ones all the time, so Holly is starting to make even more friends, but gets to meet even more kids her age in a place where she feels safe.
On this particular day it was a very small group that got together. It was a nice change of pace. This is Joshua who is almost 20 months old. He is such a sweetie. He is a little shy, so he had a lot of fun with just him and the two girls. He is teeny tiny for his age, so us three moms talked a lot about eating issues and share so many of the same concerns.
When it was time to go, and Holly told me when she was ready, as she had only a short nap that day and was ready for another I let her walk outside on her own. She was eager to explore some place new in a familiar setting. She listened to Mommy when I told her edge, and navigated down the front stoop all on her own.
She liked the feel of the different types of stone against her feet and wondered around for a little bit, but Mommy headed to the car. I simply had to turn back and call her and say "Holly, it's time to go pick up Daddy"
And she turned and came trotting after me. She is getting to be so fast, she practically runs. She came up to the car, helped me open the door and was ready to climb into the seat. She napped on the way home and awoke to Daddy smiling down on her just a short 30 minutes later.

Holly is having such a wonderful life! You are such a great mom! Chloe is a cutie too! The play dates sound like the best, a way for kids and moms to learn from each other.
Love, Granny
