A lot has been going on and it has been a few days since I have updated. On Wednesday Holly went for a long walk with her Daddy and granny, they went all over the neighborhood. Later they went to the Farmer’s market a block over. It is a place like where we get our weekly Veggie boxes, but those who don’t subscribe can purchase any of the left over veggies on Wednesdays. They got some sweet potatoes and carrots and beets. They also go a watermelon for me. It was very tasty.
That night mom and dad went on another date to see a movie, we saw something called city of ember, which I really enjoyed. It was sorta like a tween adventure movie that reminded me of Spiderwich, it was a fun adventure of two teens who live in an underground city and discover the way to the surface. One of them has a little sister named Poppy and she liked to chew things and was very cute, we decided to call her Holly.
Before the movie we drove around Charlottesville exploring, and went down by UVA. It was fun. Holly had fallen asleep early but woke up just a few minutes before we came home around midnight. She fell back asleep pretty quickly after a bottle, but then woke up screaming bloody murder at 5am. We had no idea why she was so startled, but we changed her and gave her a bottle and she fell back asleep, until 7am that is. It was a rough night and I attribute it to growth spurts or time change adjustments.
On Thursday we decided to go downtown at Jackie’s encouragement. We had a lot of fun. First we stopped at a shishi knitting store, it was beautiful with all the plush soft and colorful yarn, I saw an amazingly cute little baby jacket and was told that if I get the soft ribbony rainbow yarn that it came with the pattern for the jacket free, Joel was sold and convinced me to splurge on the yarn. We looked around the store a bit more at all kinds of cute items, Holly liked feeling all the different textures. I decided to pass on getting the needles and stitch holders there, as they were overpriced.
Next we found a stained glass store that had a beautiful piece hanging in the window that was a Celtic knot, it inspired me to want to do stained glass again, but it’s not a good hobby to do with a baby around. In the store there were also some really nice mobiles and one was a hanging dragon, and when you pulled down on a string his wings swung up and down as if he was flying. It was made of wood, and we took a picture so we could try and figure out how it was made, it might be a good project for Joel one day.
After that we went to the beading store, Jackie needed some elastic to repair a bracelet she had that broke. Holly liked all of the colors in the bead store as well. We next found a used and rare book store, in stark contrast to the rainbow colors and bright glass, bead, and yarn stores, this one was all dark and leather and warm. We found a plush couch and sat and played while daddy looked for books.
All around there were little cafes and outdoor restaurants; we ended up having some pizza at a place called Christopher’s that was quite good. On the way home we stopped at Michaels to get the knitting needles and supplies I would need to make the little jacket for Holly, and then to Barnes and Nobles to stop and get the second book in the series I was reading.
That night Holly’s nana Mary arrived from Gainesville, and we had a fun visit in the evening before bed. We watched Thursday Night live, and the Office which were funny, and I read my book before bed. Holly had a spell of crankiness in the evening before Mary arrived she was fussy, didn’t want to sleep, or eat and just grumpy, but after some mommy time, she was cheerful in time to see her nana.

I love what her shirt says
I am loving the t-shirt - it totally rocks! I'm so impressed :-)
I love that mosaic sofa too what a cool idea. Sounds like you had a lovely time, looking forward to seeing the cardigan you knit. The colours were intense!
Holly is getting so big now, I noticed compaired to Joel and you that she has really grown from some of the earlier pictures. She is soooo cute!
Glad that you're home, I bet it was nice to spend time with Joel.
