Habitot

So the main display area in Habitot is a little farm. As soon as we got there Holly crawled over and started placing apples into a basket and collecting them. I love this little tree, the apples are Velcro and you can put them in the tree, or pick them.

The little fence made an excellent place for her to cruise, and she headed over the say Hi to the horsey.
But like every good farm girl a day of work just isn't complete without moving some bails of hay.
After you tend to the farm and pick all of the apples you take them in your little tractor to town.
You get fresh veggies and fruit from the market. And this was Holly's first lesson in eating organic. She mostly played though, I think the lesson was a little over her head for now.
Instead she decided to head over to the trains, which is really where most food comes from, sadly it is very hard to get all locally grown groceries, but our weekly veggie box sure does a lot towards accomplishing that goal.
This is the art room, and we were there for the Birthday Celebration, inside they were painting and decorating a cake. Holly was a little too little to do this but she liked to peek in and watch the older kids.
But ultimately for Holly it seems to be all about the fruits and veggies today. Here she is nibbling on a Carrot in the "Baby Garden"
There were all kinds of cool climbing structures in the baby garden for her to climb onto. She was fast to make friends.
Spinning the built in rattle entertained the other babies as well as Holly.
But these were but little distractions to her true calling, a farm girl at heart it seems, today anyways, and here she is in a grove of carrots. Picking away.
She of course had to climb up onto the Carrot mound before she began to pick them and every one had to be removed.
Here she is admiring her work. What a path of destruction she has left, now all she needs is a farm hand to come and collect those carrots for market.
Then she was off, distracted again she headed over to the water room.
What is the water room you may ask, a room where the kids can play in water, splash and pour and play. First she played in the tub, splashing. In the room there is an area where there are funnels where you can pour water into a large tub and then at the end it can spray out on everyone. On non busy days there are large cars that you can take into the water room to do a car wash.
But today instead there were tubs of water to give the babies baths. Since Holly loves her bath so much she was very eager to give her dollies a bath and play in the water. There is this cool water slide where you can pour water into the top and it flows down and drips out at the end into the tub.
In the end she had a blast but she was soaked and we had to change her cloths. So like every good Farm Girl, she was back with a vengeance, this time hitching a ride with a tractor boy.
Taking the day off from work she decided to go fishing in the pond. Everywhere she went she made new friends.
One of the cool things at Habitot is this climbing wall. Here is Holly stalking the other kids as they go in and out of the entrance, she watches them as they climb and wishes she was just a little bigger so she could climb too.
After all of that hard work playing we took a break and Holly had a bite of Birthday Cake. She actually ate a little more of this one then on her own birthday.
Then she was off to play some more.. Making friends everywhere we turned. We had a wonderful day. We ran into Ruby and her mom while we were here, but they were leaving when we first arrived.
