Bayfair Mall Play Area

We recently discovered a new play area, and place to shop.In Berkeley there really aren't any malls. There is the Hilltop mall in Richmond, maybe 20 minutes north, and the Westfield Mall in San Francisco, only 9 miles but anywhere between 15-60 minutes depending on traffic and parking. So we were excited to venture South to San Leandro and check out the Bayfair Mall. There was this really fun play area where the girls hung out, and climbed and played.I was amazed that they discovered a way to get on top of the wave structure, it was really high and steep.Just outside the play area was an area of coin operated Vehicles which the girls loved to climb on.It was pretty amazing to see them in this sports car is was like a flash to the future.I thought this rugged jeep was pretty cool too. Holly looked like she was going to go off road. But ultimately they liked the red corvette better. They mostly liked just climbing into each one and running back and forth to the play area.We didn't end up walking the mall and looking around, but when we thought we were ready to go we had to find a bathroom first. There happened to be a target just around the corner, attached to the mall and that was the nearest bathroom. It was a mistake to go in, near the entrance is the dollar section and immediately Holly and Chloe began to pick out toys. There was another woman shopping and Holly was putting items she wanted in her cart, so Katherine and I gave in and got a cart to share. We changed Diapers and let the girls play in target, there were a lot of fun Easter items, purses, dress up toys, head bands. So of course, not that we already had items to purchase, we figured it couldn't hurt to check out the toy isle, so off we went. They had so much fun riding around in the cart together, we let them both sit in the back as we made our way to the far end of the store. When we got there we let them run around the isles, there was a large empty area when they chased and kicked balls to each other. They checked out the tricycles and riding toys, and then went to the area with the dolls and played with those.Overall it was a very tiring but fun day, and with mostly dollar items, it didn't break the bank to get Holly the items she picked out.We definitely hope to go and play again, this time I will be prepared for a stop in target before we head home.

Holly looks way too natural in that red Corvette!
What a fun mall! Does this make Holly a "mall rat" already????
