Here we are over at Leelou's house

She is hosting a play date for the lantern festival.

I think it also goes by the name of Moon Festival, at least in Ni-Hao Kai-Lan

There is a special tea and everyone has moon cake.

Holly was so excited about this even and anticipating it for weeks

Here the kids are running around and playing

While the grown-ups are eating and talking

We are waiting for the sun to go down so the kids can march with there lanterns

In the part of Malaysia where Emily and Leena are from they told us that everyone has animal shaped lantern's

Which is also what happens in Kai-lan

I found a round Lantern for Holly to play with but none of us could find the animal shaped ones

Here we are taking a break inside playing in Leelou's room

Holly has some Chocolate Milk and reads some princess books

Before long we are back outside and the kids are all jumping

Leelou has a really cool trampoline

It was a lot of fun, although quite chaotic

There were like seven kids inside all together

Chloe, Holly, Mira, Leelou, Kaylee, Brendan, and Eli

We did end up with a few bonked heads

But they are resilient and before long whomever was hurt was back and jumping again

Its more fun when you can jump all together

They played the crashing game and all tumbled into each other

Here we are getting ready for the lantern's

And these are the yummy moon cakes

I actually tried a little bit of three of them

There were different flavors. It wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad either.

Here are all the kids with there lantern's

Each one has a candle inside and is tied to a stick

They had a lot of fun holding them with the candle

Then it was time for them to put on a parade for us all

They marched in a circle and sand some marching songs

It was super cute and a lot of fun

We hope this party with be a recurring one, we had a great time.

That's so wonderful to share in other's cultural heritage. The lanterns are beautiful with the candlelight!
