Snow House

A few months ago we went on VacationWe joined Chloe and her family at a cabin near Lake TahoeHere the girls are already getting set for a sleep overWe had just arrived after a almost 3 hour drive and they were eager to playWe were there only for a long weekend, Friday Night till Sunday night,It was a wonderful trip. The girls had so much fun being togetherThey started off exploring the Cabin, finding the rooms and getting into troubleSince it was already late and everyone was tired from unpacking the carsWe hung out and watched a movie after dinnerThere was Firewood out and the girls decided to use it to make lettersHolly is really into writing her name, so she made an HThe video we were watching was a "Hello Kitty" movieHolly loves "Hello Kitty" it is one of her favorite new showsThe next day we were ready to venture out into the snowThe girls were not super fans of the gloves but we tried them anywaysI love these little snow pants, they are so cute on themHere is Holly out in the snow right in front of the house.See our car down below... yes the drift is really that high, maybe 15 feet?It was beautiful outside, Snowy yes, but actually not that cold Holly just had on long sleeves, but she didn't want her jacket or glovesLike Mommy she likes the cold and I think runs a little hot besides. Though without gloves her hands did get super cold.We decided to drive to a spot we heard was good for sleddingHere are Chloe and Eric heading down the Hill. Tyler and his Daddy Ken were there tooThey drove up on Saturday morning to join us for the weekend.Holly went down the hill once, when we first arrived but I think it was a little too muchShe was scared and refused for the rest of the day to try it againShe was however happy to dig and scoop She had on a jacket this time to stay a little warmerAnd dryer too, but as you can see I was fine with just a heavy sweater and scarfShe decided to make a Snow BunnyAnd before long was ready to ditch the gloves and jacket too.She was ready to head back to the CabinAnd just wanted to cuddle with her MommyIt had been a tough morning of new activitiesBut we were able to stay a little longer and watch and the Daddies all took turnsThey wanted to Sled down the hill too. Here are all of the Mommies and babiesmaking Snow Men and Snow BunniesThe kids really liked being outside in the snowIt was so beautiful outside, everywhere we turned, trees and snow covered peaksHolly has been asking to go to the "Snow House" weeks after our tripShe likes spending all that time with Chloe, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, Bath, Bed, PlaytimeHere is Ken swooshing down the hill, flying over the bumpErik took a turn too, it was a challenge to hit the hill just rightThe guys had to go several times to make it the whole way down without a fallIt was great to relax and it was our first vacation for a long timeIts kinda funny how the kids have so much fun just diggingScooping snow and filling buckets bring them so much joyHolly had her new chewy and she liked chomping on the snow tooTickle tickleHugs and snugglesAnd snow angles too. The next day we stayed closer to "home"The girls were scared of the big hills and we had a huge backyard full of snowOur room was up on the second floor and had a balcony. The snow went up to the balcony levelAnd I could simply sit on the porch in the comfort fo the cabin and watchSoon the sun was beginning to set... It was so beautifulHere we are all having dinner togetherYummy pasta, who doesn't like thatThen the girls were playing together, they are so good at sharingThat evening they took a warm bath togetherAnd piled on the blankets in there PJs to watch another movieI think we tried Beauty and the Beast but Holly got scaredHere the girls are playing with some of the "House Toys" making a mess as usualNot hours before we had to clean up and head outHere is the View from the porch, it certainly was a challange getting everything in and outWe were a little nervous all weekend about these steps, but after going up and down about 100 times Holly got a lot of practiceOne last trip out the back to sled a littleHere Holly and Chloe even went together one time down the little slopeWe decided next time we would do the "bunny slopes" first and once the kids got bored try the bigger hillsHere Holly tried again sitting in Daddy's lapBy the end of the afternoon she was a pro sledderBut it was time to get ready to go back homeBye Bye Snow House, we had a wonderful time and hope to visit again next year.

Great photos! I feel like I was there! Those sunset photos are gorgeous. And only a girl with a topiary rabbit in front of her house would think to make a "snow bunny"! Love, Granny
