Prior to Holly's Swim lesson Holly and I arrived early and played together in the Kindergym. We had a lot of fun building a really cool tower of soft blocks. She did it all by herself. Then she went crash. Afterwards we went swimming, or at least Holly did. They had this really neat balance board thing where she stretched out her arms and kicked. Later she tried to climb on it like a surf board. I got some video of her.
I guess the title gives it away, doesn't it :-) These are not great pictures but it was such a cute little sequence and I thought it showed just how fast this one moves around because in fact she simply didn't stay still for long enough for me to actually get a non blurry picture. So much work but ahh the satisfaction when it all comes tumbling down!
We were so Lucky to get to spend Thanksgiving Day at Holly's dear friend Chloe's house. We decided to delay our celebration to the weekend and instead spent the day with good friends. My sister had plans with her Peace Corps Friends and Joel's Mom's and Uncle were coming to town so we planned on eating with family on Sunday. For thanksgiving Day in addition to Chloe, Maya and LeeLou joined the celebration. In all there were about 18 people. The kids had so much fun playing in the afternoon while the grown-up finished last minute preparations. This next one is from later on when the girls decided to do a performance. Chloe wanted to sing a song from the Little Mermaid and do a dance from her Ballet Recital. Since the other girls didn't really know the dance she decided they could be back up dancers and singers. It was super cute. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH7jbjgwTQ4 We had such a wonderful day. At the end of the night the girls got a treat and we did some face painting. Thank you to the whole Mannon and Rubio Clan for including us in there festivities.
This year at Holly's school the kids did a parade around the block all dressed in costume. Afterwards they walked around the playground getting treats from various parents and teachers who had snack bags. Inside her classroom there they were setting up for a wonderful Halloween party. It was really fun. They had several stations set up around the room. There was a cup toss and a pin the bone on the skeleton, a cookie decorating station and a name tag decorating area. There was a fishing spot and face painting. At most of the stations the kids won neat prizes. Oooo and I almost forgot the slime area. That one was really fun. I had a super fun time. Holly dressed up like Cinderella and all of her classmates had neat costumes too, a Dinosaur, superhero, Fairy and a few other princesses too. It was a great day.
