Christmas

I posted a few pictures during Christmas from my cell phone. These are a few from the borrowed camera while mine was getting fixed. I wish I had more better ones, but these are cute. Here we are beginning to decorate the tree. We did it really early this year, the first week of December which was great as we really got to appreciate it all month and anticipate Christmas. For less then 25$ I got all new decorations at the Dollar store. I used a few of my old favorites, many were non breakable characters from molded clay. Instead of tinsel Holly decided to use her beaded necklacesThey were wonderful. She was able to help us decorate the tree completely all of the items were ones she could put on her self and for weeks she decorated and undecorated playing the decoration game. The on Christmas eve after Holly was tucked into bed Santa Clause came and left all of these presents. It was beautiful. So many presents from Santa and the Grandparents this was the view when Holly woke up Christmas morning.Out of bed she came and she was so surprised. I don't think she knew what to do it was a bit overwhelming. She ran first straight into Mommies arms. Then when I told her that she could open a present she picked a small one first and opened them each slowly.Eventually she found the first of her big presents. A drum set. She was so excited, she simply loved it and played with it forever. This drum set is pretty sturdy but still a "toy" set so it is not too loud. The cymbal however is really loud. so we have a no drums after 9:00 PM rule. But on Christmas Morning we let her bang away to her heart's content. And on we went, more unwrapping, paper everywhere. She got so many presents that she loves as did Mommy and Daddy. Here she is playing with her Dollhouse. It was huge and had so much furniture. She loved the little piano. She would play it together with the drums which is really cute. From Tanta Kat she got this remote controlled Explorer Robot. He is so cool. He explores the room and plays hide and seek or he will follow your remote commands. It took Holly a little while to understand that the remote controlled him. These are some dolls for her dollhouse from Granny. It is a whole family, Mom, Dad, Kids, baby, and Grandparents They are adjustable so they can sit and stand. She loves playing with them in the dollhouse. This was another little toy that she got and loved, though now I forgot from whom. It was a boat that you blew in and then the balloon filled up and when you place it in the water, the air in the balloon pushes it along forward. This was another favorite, though she insist on playing with it inside which I don't let her do. it was like a little parasol. Oma gave Tanta Kat and I each these cute little travel umbrella's. They were very colorful and Holly really liked them. We had a wonderful Christmas. Holly really understood it all, Santa Claus, Presents, the tree. It was wonderful.

That's such a nice blog, from the undecorated tree to Xmas morning! I so appreciate your blogs. I feel like I miss out so much because we live so far away, and the blog helps so much with that.
love, Granny
