Cole's Birthday 4-16 - A Day @ The Beach

Happy Birthday Cole! This year we are celebrating again at Kirby CoveWe were running a little late and missed the blowing of the candlesBut we arrived in time to help Cole open some of his fun presentsThere was a fun sand area to play inAnd all of the kids got cool Dino masks to wearFor Days after Holly ran around yelling "Rawr"Later we took a walk down to the beachKirby Cove is located under the Golden Gate OverlookJust over the bridge in Marin. It is a cold pacific day not too cold for a bathing suitBut too cold to really go into the water.I think this is the only time a wave caught Hollyand quickly she ran away back to MommyBut she did have a blast digging in the sandShe loved running up to the wavesand building sand castlesThe view was amazingClouds drifting through over the bridgeCliffs out into the wide oceanLater Daddy and Holly collected stones in her bucketShe enjoyed watching the big boats going under the bridgeand then we found this amazing swingRope and driftwood, at first we were scared to let Holly on itBut she was pretty insistent. She is such a big girl now.I'm amazed that she was able to walk on the stones barefootDaddy and I were not so tough and walked much slowerLater she got buckets of water to pour on the stonesShe loved how they magically changed colors when they got wetShe was having such a wonderful time and it was a gorgeous daySadly this year's party was also a goodbye.Aleutia, Cole's Mommy found a new job at a state park near New OrleansThey were thrilled and excited to be moving, though sad to leave there friendsIt will be a new adventure for them. They left in mayIf ever we head at that way, we will be sure to stop in and visitToday was a relaxing afternoon, we watched the wavesLooking at the boats come byWe found shells and stones and saw SailboatsWatched the city in the distanceWe hope to go back again this summerHolly loves the oceanThe beachHer Mommy.
