Old MacDonald Had A Farm

Happy Birthday Isaac! Only 3 months late.... On May 13th we helped him celebrate at little farm.Holly had not been for months and months and prior to this trip she had been terrified and cried at the animals. On this day she had a wonderful time and we were ever so excited that she got the hang of it.In the days before Tanta Kat got a full time Job, she was able to join us for the event. We saw so many animals. I could not believe how big this Turkey was.Holly was very intrigued and since she has been watching Leah's Farm a Baby signing times video she is very into the animals.I love this little party dress, the colors are really good on her.She was very curious about these baby chickens, they were chirping and hopping around. She wanted to reach out to them and give them a pet or feed them, but they weren't accessible. Here are the Mommies. We were able to toss some food out to them, but they weren't huge fans of the leaf's we had. This is a big rooster. He made a big sound while we were visiting him and Holly didn't even get scared.Isn't he very handsome. He was big enough to jump onto the ledge so Holly could get a closer look. The little ones were under a warm light, Holly tried to play smooshy face, One decided to step up and play back with her. Isn't he such a cutie. This is a "Moo Moo" Holly can't say cow yet. but she knows what one is and moos when she sees one.On other visits the cows were not out so it was nice to be able to get close to them and pet them.Another highlight was the piglets. Holly stood on a Trowel and watched them for a long time. The Mommy is so huge, and Holly likes pigs a lot, I think they are in her top five. Finally we take a chance and feed someone. This hungry goat.I think I was more nervous then Holly this time and worried about her little fingers. We used very large pieces of Celery and she held them back far from the animal. We ended up running out really fast. On another visit after this we cut the pieces, each stick into about eight. It lasted much longer that way, and there was never anything to worry about when it came to finger tips. The goats were really aggressive, and while not her favorite animal at home or in books, on this day they were by far her favorite.Look at this guy, who would not crack up at him, that face! She was just in hysterics.I think he had Holly wrapped around his left hoof. She would have fed him Celery and giggled all day if she couldShe definitely made a friend in this little goat. The other's tried to push there way in.Trying to get a piece of the Yummy action. But alas we had more animals to see and had to move on.Our next visit was to the very picky sheep. They must have been over fed, as they didn't like our lettuce. So we were off to see someone else. Click the link Here to see Holly asking for more. We were out of food but luckily Marylee came prepared.By this time Holly was getting a little worn out and was ready for a mommy break. On the way back down the hill we stopped in to check back with the cows. And then stopped into the Visitor's center to get out of the heat and clean up for snacks.Holly of course went strait away to the bear so that she could climb on.Then we headed back over to the play ground for Birthday Cup cakes and snack time. Here is the Birthday Boy and his older sister Miriam. While the Mommies were getting there act together the kidlettes played in the sand box.Holly was ready to jump right in and got her second wind for the day. Here the Birthday Boy is peeking out waiting to go down the slide. They are so adorable. It's hard to believe that Isaac, the baby is now older then Miriam was when we met them. And she is a peach. I think her mommy might report differently, I hear three year olds test one's patient'sIn a way that a terrible two is just learning how to do, but she is really good at engaging the little kids and being nice to them. And then it was time for Cupcakes, Holly was a huge fan of the blue frosting, that was about all she wanted to eat.She made quite a mess of herself, but what else did I expect?A few more minutes for Mommy to socialize and finish a cupcake of her ownAnd then we were off. We had a great morning and felt lucky to be able to spend isaac's special day with him.

Holly is getting just the right input for learning, seeing real animals after watching videos and reading books. How fun to see how much she loved it! What a great place that farm is.
Let's go when I'm out in November!
I loved the party dress too.
love, Granny
