Happy Birthday Cole!
This year we are celebrating again at Kirby Cove
We were running a little late and missed the blowing of the candles
But we arrived in time to help Cole open some of his fun presents
There was a fun sand area to play in
And all of the kids got cool Dino masks to wear
For Days after Holly ran around yelling "Rawr"
Later we took a walk down to the beach
Kirby Cove is located under the Golden Gate Overlook
Just over the bridge in Marin.
It is a cold pacific day not too cold for a bathing suit
But too cold to really go into the water.
I think this is the only time a wave caught Holly
and quickly she ran away back to Mommy
But she did have a blast digging in the sand
She loved running up to the waves
and building sand castles
The view was amazing
Clouds drifting through over the bridge
Cliffs out into the wide ocean
Later Daddy and Holly collected stones in her bucket
She enjoyed watching the big boats going under the bridge
and then we found this amazing swing
Rope and driftwood, at first we were scared to let Holly on it
But she was pretty insistent. She is such a big girl now.
I'm amazed that she was able to walk on the stones barefoot
Daddy and I were not so tough and walked much slower
Later she got buckets of water to pour on the stones
She loved how they magically changed colors when they got wet
She was having such a wonderful time and it was a gorgeous day
Sadly this year's party was also a goodbye.
Aleutia, Cole's Mommy found a new job at a state park near New Orleans
They were thrilled and excited to be moving, though sad to leave there friends
It will be a new adventure for them. They left in may
If ever we head at that way, we will be sure to stop in and visit
Today was a relaxing afternoon, we watched the waves
Looking at the boats come by
We found shells and stones and saw Sailboats
Watched the city in the distance
We hope to go back again this summer
Holly loves the ocean
The beach
Her Mommy. It was a wonderful day.
Happy Birthday Cole!

That looks like so much fun! Maybe we should go there when we are visiting in August? Of course you couldn't see a swing and Holly NOT get on it!!! That will never happen! love, Granny
