Studio Grow Playdate

We had a big play date a few weeks ago at Studio Grow, It was our first time back for a while, and Kat's first time there. It was so much fun. Holly's play gets more and more sophisticated every time we go. She still runs around in circles around the whole place when we arrive. But she is interested in more things. Here is little miss Chloe who loved going down the slide. Holly wasn't as into this slide as she used to be.Here Holly is rolling around on the gym mat in the large playroom. She likes crashing into the mats and foam blocks. This baby was about 6 months old and Holly wanted to get a close look at her and got down to her level and was inspecting her. Trying to figure out I think if she was a doll or not.I can almost here her say "I didn't do it" as she looks around and surveys the mess of blocks in every direction, she is big enough to crawl into the table on her own.Sarah joined us at Studio Grow. This was her first time here. I think she had a lot of fun. She wasn't walking just yet but she found other ways to get around.Holly spent some time in the dancing room this visit as well, she liked watching herself in the mirror and doing her happy dance.I thought this was so cute, I love the expression on Isabel's face. Deep thought, concentration, boredom, all wrapped into one. The girls were having fun showing her the little animals.Holly is also starting to become more interested int he art room and art supplies. She can sort of use a crayon, she can certainly make marks, but they are like little dots or light scribbles. Here is Satine. She likes the art room a lot too. Both girls were very interested in the crayons, and we used it as an opportunity to tell them there colors.Satine is also just learning how to draw. She is a little more controlled and can get more of a back and forth pattern.Chloe came over to check out what was going on, of course she couldn't be left out. I love the way the sun is shining through the window on her, its such a pretty pose. Here the girls are playing with some home made play dough, Sandrine is making sure they don't eat it. I think Holly would really like the sensory aspects of it, but she still puts everything in her mouth. This is the baby room, the girls have completely outgrown it by now, but it does make a quiet get away and Studio Grow wasn't very crowded so the little babies weren't using it.I particularly like the mirror with the ballerina bar, that is the perfect height for the girls. But the big foam blocks and climbers are a lot of fun too. Here Holly is playing with a keyboard and sitting like a big girl, it is amazing to see her climbing in and out of chairs now. When we cleaned out Joel's office we found some old keyboards. So we added them to her toy box collection. She really likes them. She has a toy laptop too, but some times she likes to pull the keyboard out and type on it.Here we are back in the dancing room. She is tickling herself with the pom pom. She had a lot of fun playing with it, running around the room, Mommy saying "Shake, Shake, Shake"There was a bin of music supplies too, little bell bracelets and anklets, which she took off the moment I put them on, but still ran around with as they jingled. They dumped out the entire basket of stuff and had a really fun time. Though the variety of stuff to choose from is much more limited compared to music class.Ruby also joined us on the play date. You can see her in the back ground above, chewing on a pompom. They were all intrigued with the wall size mirror and watching each other.Sarah is such a little scientist. She is very inquisitive, and curious. Holly will grab something new shake it around, run with it and then toss it aside, but Sarah was really trying to figure it what it was and how exactly it worked and what all of the pieces are, which i think is pretty coolHere Chloe has one of those long rainbow ribbons that you see dancerettes spinning and making designs with. I think they are used in the Rhythmic Gymnastics section of the Olympic games too.Another good thing to do with the bells is eat them. Not sure how hygienic it is, but all the kids do it, and I am not the kind of mom who worries so much about germs, if she gets them, the better for her immune system. It amazes he how grown up she looks at times, just simply poses or expressions can make all the difference, and of course some outfits are more grown up them others. Here Chloe has the "whole enchilada" We entwined the bells with the ribbons, and then attached them to the pom poms, so when you shook it, they would jingle and flow. Its a lot of heft for an itsy bitsy little girl, but she gave us quite a show, her Mommy sang "Big Steps, Little Steps" which she then preformed for us, its her favorite Yo Gabba Gabba song. Then it was time to clean up. These toys are technically reserved for the Music Circle they have in the morning, but someone took them out of the cabinet, so we had to put them all away when we were ready to move to the next room. This is the Roller Coaster. You ride this little car down the wavy track, she is big enough to hold on tight and go down on her own now, but I remember when she was too little to do that, like yesterday. Here Holly is teaching Chloe bad habits, or is it the other way around. Regardless, two mischievous peas in a pod, they decided to make the block table there club house.Of course Sarah wanted in on the action, just a little squeeze here and a nudge there and there would be plenty of room for all three of them. They thought it was so funny and helped her climb in.When they were done Sarah helped the other girls climb back out. I think she is taller then both of them has longer legs, higher center of gravity. so climbing in and out was no problem. We ended the playdate with a little puppet show. Mrs Penguin and Mr rabbit were having a fun time playing, and then Holly ran and snatched up miss leopard to join in on the fun.Mr. Elephant came and stole the show. We had a blast at Studio Grown, and went home exhausted from our long day.

I love that I've visited Studio Grow. I can see Holly interacting in different ways as she matures!
