Off to the Zoo

Here we are at the zoo, on a playdateWe met Chloe and Sara here for some funWe often go on the rides before we go insideHere the girls are riding on the airplanesThen they took a ride on the carsIt has taken a long time before the girls were tall enough to ride the ridesThese were all really great practice for our trip to DisneyHolly loves them. She was scared at first of the airplaneBut when she was riding it with a friend she did greatAlthough none of the girls could figure out how to get the plane to go upIt was a simple lever, but they were not strong enough to pull and hold it backEventually after all the rides we made it in to see the animalsThe tigers are a favorite when we can see them and they aren't hidingThen there are the GiraffesThey are so majestic, but Holly even loves the ducks who live with themWe have a zoo membership but don't go as often as we shouldI think part of the reason is it is so hilly, It takes forever to walk from the rides to the kids areaOn this day however Daddy was with usand we had a stroller, so Holly didn't have to walk too muchExcept when she wanted to, and Daddy could carry our bagshe really likes climbing around on the stonesThere used to be water near here but it was gone on this visitThis was a beautiful day, not too hotDaddy was having a blast chasing Holly aroundHere we are checking out the Gorillaand the other monkeys tooHolly liked the Monkeys a lotShe even tried to climb on the treesSo daddy gave her a handHere Holly and Chloe spent some time running around on the lawnShe of course didn't want to come back when it was time and kept running onThen she headed into the playgroundIt is neat watching her climb up the spider webTaking her to a place over and over since she was a baby you see the changesI remember when she crawled over to the ropes and used them to try and pull upThis is a neat sculpture on the roof of the insect room
On this day we parked in the lower lotAnd for the first time discovered a little park that they have outsideThis is Holly on the Elephant slide, she zooms right down the noseAnd of course she was a little monkey climbing all aroundShe is so intent on exploring her environmentA cool tunnel into the mouth of the HippoThen Holly tried to get Daddy to go down the slide with her tooThis is a Camel, it was an interesting climbing structure, but Holly needed helpand here she is on the back of the HippoShe came over and played with some older girls who were sweet to her.She wanted to play with the big kids, Daddy had to carry my cute sack of Apples to the car. It was a blast.
