Every Friday we head over to the Berkeley YMCA to participate in the Swim and Gym program.
We spend the first 30 minutes in the pool, which is a lot of fun. Holly enjoys playing in the water a lot.
She has been a little anxious lately though because she knows now when we are in the water it is not all fun and games.
She is actually learning to swim which means that she gets dunked under water, and she doesn't like that so much.
So we usually wait until the end of the session, but she has been getting better.
Next we head over to the Kindergym, but first we have to rush to the locker room and change from our swim cloths.
It always takes forever, but we get through it and dry off and head over to play.
In Kindergym we do circle time and sing a few group songs.
There is also a lot of time for the kids to run and play and climb on the structures.
Some days we play on the parachute, which is one of Holly's favorite parts of the day.
Some days there are balls, other's we have spots to stand on while we play do as I say
Then after circle time they blow up a bounce house. This I think is Holly's other favorite activity.
She likes it best when the other kids are jumping with her. She has gotten really good at climbing in and out on her own.
Her bouncing ability is also pretty remarkable, she is getting higher and higher.
Sometimes she will hold onto the mesh siding as if it was a trampoline handle
When she does that she jumps really high. It is great seeing her make so much progress.
I wish we had more time in Kindergym. But we eat into that time changing from the pool.
We go as fast as we can, but I haven't been able to go faster then 15 minutes, and even then I send Kat ahead with Holly.
We talked about moving up swim class, but the other parent's thought 30 minutes of transition time was too long.
She has been making a few friends in swim and gym as well. There are three kids who are almost five.
Anna, the little girl she likes a lot, her mother is German and she speaks both languages.
Holly likes to follow her around and they have a lot of fun playing together.
She also has Cora in Kindergym with her, and she is making friends with a little girl named Citlali who is just turning 2 this week.
After Kindergym the mommies head to the parent support group but first we drop the kids of in Child Watch,
Holly has the routine down and runs over to the snack area ready for our pizza as soon as we arrive.
We have been practicing having her have time away from Mommy, some days she goes a whole 70 minutes, but other's only 40.
The Support group has been great it's nice to give updates on our life, but especially to hear what everyone else is going through. We have really enjoyed Swim and Gym.
