A while back we headed over to our friend Devlin's house. His mom Lila runs a wildlife center. Its set up in there home up in the Oakland hills and we have the best time ever.Sadly her non-profit organization, the wildlife center, is being evicted. Not only will all of the animals be out of a home, but so will our friends, and if they do not find a place to relocateThe center will need to be closed, and it provides such a needed service to the community and the animals. In the coming months their rent will be doubled and make it impossible for them to keep there doors open.Sadly rental protection laws do not apply because they live in a house not an apartment. They found an amazing property that was being foreclosed and would be perfect for the animals with the land. They tried to raise funds but could not get the needed amount in the time needed and the bank did not want to negotiate. Here is a link to an article in the SF Chronicle about there plight:

When we were visiting they had three fawns on the back porch, they were so precious. We were also able to see a skunk and baby possum up close. They were so cute. The girls were really intrigued and wanted to pet them. The playroom was really fun too. There was a train set up on the coffee tableWhich was a particular favorite of Devlin's. He also had a cool slide and ball pit.The girls had a lot of fun climbing around on that. This keyboard was also a favorite of Holly's, she liked banging away on the keys making music.I wish we had ours set up for her to play with more. We had a wonderful time, and are sad that our friends are going through such a rough time, If you know of anyone who may want to help out, make a donation, or of an appropriate grant, please pass the information along or send them the article.

How wonderful for Holly to meet fawns, baby possum and skunk!!! And that's so sad that the wildlife center is threatened! I wish I knew what to do.
