Here we are having a visit over to Sara's house
When we first arrive it is a beautiful day and the girls want to run around outside and play.
They live in a small gated community, not a lot of traffic and little paths that are fun to explore.
The summer was peaking through and there were beautiful flowers blooming everywhere.
The girls really liked to check out the flowers and the rocks and look at birds
Just running through the grass was fun for them, it was nice to be outside.
First they met a local kitty cat, who was surprisingly friendly to a few hyper toddlers
The girls was really nice to the cat too, very gentle and even calm when approaching it.
They both take their distance waiting for the cat to come to them
It is cautious too, but not skittish enough to run off
eventually Holly goes in for a hug and then the cat is ready to go
I couldn't believe all of the pretty roses, I particularly like these orange ones.
It was cool outside but in a nice fresh air kind of way, Sara lives near the marina, so there is a nice breeze.
Holly was really excited about these lemons, she wanted to pick them, but I wouldn't let her.
She kept asking for the "ball" and I kept trying to tell her it was a lemon.
Last time I gave her a lemon she tried to bite into it. I might have given it to her, had there been others in the tree.
Calla lilies are one of my favorite flowers, these were particularly beautiful.
Later they found a doggie behind a fence and tried to play with him.
He was little and didn't come over so they could pet him.
Afterwards we headed back to their house to play.
Holly found Sara's guitar and had a lot of fun playing with it.
It was very nice of Sara to share it with her.
She was very generous with all of her toys and didn't mind sharing at all.
I love this picture of Sara, she is so sweet taking a little rest from all that running around.
Holly found some puzzles to play with and was very busy exploring everything.
Its always fun to go to someone else's house and play with there toys, you find all kinds of new things to try.
Its also a lot of fun for Holly to play in a different way then she is used too.
When she is with Sara she slows down a little bit pays more attention has more focus.
And on the flip side I think she helps energize Sara too.
I mean what better reason to run around then have a friend to chase.
We also like going to a friends house so we can make a mess somewhere other then home
Other people toys are always more fun, when i get her something a friend has she never plays with it as much as she did at there house.
I think there is something about not having access to it that makes it more appealing.
I love this picture of Isabel and Sara hugging.
There is nothing better then feeling your toddlers arms wrapped around your neck with a squeeze.
My heart flutters every time still, and those kisses are priceless.
Even when I get an accidental head butt. In reality I am the one who needs the helmet.
I have the bumps and bruises to prove it. Holly loves little buckles and wearing the "hat"
We had so much fun playing at Sara's and can't wait to visit again.

What a sweet playdate. I love the flower pictures, and the interaction with the kitty! And I had to laugh at the photo of Holly concentrating on playing guitar and sticking her tongue out a little. Joel used to do that whenever he was concentrating on a new skill! How lucky you and Holly are to have Sarah and Isabelle (and Chloe and Catherine) in your lives!
Love, Granny
I potty trained Evan by letting him run around in his birthday suit or t-shirt. It seemed to work well because he immediately knew when something was happening, and I could immediately express to him that I wasn't please with what had happened. He resisted the potty seat for a while, but with some assistance and practice, it got better. Potty training with a pull-up just didn't work because it was no different to him then going in a diaper. And yes, yay for hardwood floors, lol!
Good luck!
