We recently headed over to the De Valle Regional Park for our new friend Citlali's Birthday Party.
The park was so beautiful and we had a lot of fun running around playing in all the green space.
Holly had so much fun with the crawling tube and spinning on the Parachute.
It was great to meet all of Citlali's cousins, she has such a big family it was great.
There was some wonderful BBQ the cooking was so great, yummy steak, Joel loved it.
Also beans and rice and a huge fruit bowl. The weather was beautiful, breezy and cool, but the sun was out.
Here is Joel spinning Holly around in the grass, she loves to swing around and around.
Another cool thing was that there was this huge lake with a beach and Holly liked the sand.
It was really more like Pebbles on this shore, but she ran her fingers through them, it was a great sensory experience.
I wanted to let her to into the water, but she didn't run into the water surprisingly and it was cold.
So I didn't push it and I let her play on the shore in the sand. It was a nice walk down to the beach area.
She was a little cranky when we first arrived, she had napped in the car and didn't want to wake up.
It was really nice to be outside on such a beautiful day.
I think I may have a surfer in my future! Holly wanted to explore everything, she gets into stuff.
Like this little Basket. She is so silly. We all played in the park for a while and ate a lot of good food.
Then it was time to get ready for the cake. The girls played together for a few minutes while everyone was gathering.
One of Citlali's older cousins played peek a boo with them and would cover them up with this blanket.
The girls giggled and laughed and then pulled it off. It was very cute.
Here is the beautiful Cake, it was Hello Kitty themed, I loved the pink and Holly even signed "Cat" when she saw it.
Here is a family picture of Karen, Her Husband and Citlali before the cake cutting. I love this hug here.
Karen first addressed all of her relatives in Spanish and made a little speech, i could tell from the crowd it was very touching.
She translated a summery for the rest of us and it brought a tear to my eye. We know Citlali from Swim and Gym and now Small Voices.
The speech was a lot about how much Citlali had achieved over the past year in her development and how she surpassed expectations, and Joel and I could really identify.
It was getting late and we were very tired and holly was super cranky so we decided to head home. We had been there about 3 hours.
We missed the Pinata, but that's ok, they tend to frighten Holly a bit anyway. The ride home was simply gorgeous.
And my little two bugs were snug in the back fast asleep, all tuckered out from there day.

Looks like fun. And I had to LOL at the photo of Holly in her Starry shades, and Joel passed out on the way home!
Love, Granny
