On Saturday we were looking for an afternoon outing and decided to go out to eat for dinner. The problem was that we didn't know what the restaurants were like, and many were fancy.
We also didn't know where to spend the afternoon as the beach was chilly, the art galleries dangerous, and Holly needed an opportunity to run around and play before sitting still and eating dinner. We decided to head out to point area which was supposed to have a little historic down town area with a park.
A little town out side of Gualala that also had a movie theatre (which was playing Harry Potter - and we originally hoped to spend the afternoon at the movie), after much Internet research we discovered the park was not easy to find, I called the movie theatre, and the grocery store until I found someone who could tell me it was actually down a dirt path near a hardware store..
We decided to take Holly, since we were already there and thought the park could be nice, but it ended up not being much of a down town area at all. The play structure was interesting, but definitely for older kids, like middle school. There were also no Baby swings. Holly had a chance to climb up the platform a little and go down the slide, but it was cold and windy and the ground was rough.
After the park, I tried on my new Todd-le-Go, it is a wrist to wrist holder that allows Holly the freedom to run and play and walk, but not get lost in a crowd or go too far. It hasn't been her favorite item because she doesn't like the wrist band. But when she is distracted she forgets it is on and it works great. I have been letting her wear it while playing to get used to it.
We ended up leaving Point Arena and heading up to Gualala and finding a little Pizza place on the edge of town, Pizza and Ice Cream to be exact. The food was yummy, we were able to sit outside on the patio and was comfortable and we had yummy Sundays too. Here is Holly waiting for the food (she loved the garlic Bread) snacking on some Cheerios. Even if the park wasn't the best, she did get to run and climb and was settled and hungry enough to sit and wait at the restaurant.

It's definately not Berkeley where you have such a plethora of parks! But it was fun. Cute pix of Holly!
Ms. Photogenic! love, Granny
Not a bad park but not like at home, lol. I love the Todd-le-Go, Sam has one not nearly as fancy just a plain one but as he's a boy that's probably best, haha! He hated it at first but as he is nearly 3 now and a real handful he has had to get used to it. Great Holly pics, she is gorgeous!
